Objective: To verify the efficacy of elastic bandage associated with speech therapy to control sialorrhea (hypersalivation). Method: This study was conducted with 11 children aged between 4-10 years of both sexes with a condition of chronic hypersalivation and with some neurological disorders. Clinical evaluation was divided into two parts: subjective and objective. The subjective part included the perception of the speech therapists and of the responsible about the severity of the hypersalvation. The objective part was composed by the sialometry. Both performed before and after the application of elastic bandage. After 3 months of the application of the bandage, a new clinical evaluation was performed. Results: By observing the average weights of the period before and after application of the bandage, we see that the application of the Kinesio Tape bandage generated a reduction of the hypersalivation, however this reduction did not remain, since the comparison between the preoperative period and 3 months after indicates a not very significant reduction of the sypmtoms. Conclusion: The taping was effective in controlling sialorrhea during its use, not being observed the permanence of the results after a period without application.
